

CURRENTLY: Marin Rose Helppie (she/her) is adaptable, versatile, and loves a good cappuccino. Marin has performed in many areas of entertainment: concert dance, musical theater, industrials, commercials, film and tv, and enjoys creating choreography that bring stories to life and spark the imaginations of viewers. Marin is on faculty at The Debbie Allen Dance Academy under the direction of Emmy and Golden Globe award winning Producer, Director, Dancer and Choreographer, Miss Debbie Allen (www.DebbieAllenDanceAcademy.com). Marin also teaches at the University of Southern California (USC) in the School of Dramatic Arts.
BACKGROUND: Marin's background is rooted in Classical Ballet Technique (American Ballet Theatre Curriculum), Modern (Graham and Horton), and Theater Jazz (Ron Tassone). Marin earned her BFA in Dance graduating Cum Laude from the internationally recognized dance program at Point Park University and has also trained at The Ailey School in NYC, Interlochen Center for the Arts in MI, and The American Dance Festival in NC. Marin is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum (ABT.org). Marin is also a proud member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO.org).
PERFORMANCE: Marin’s diverse training makes her a versatile dancer and performer. Marin has had the privilege of working with renowned Choreographers including Ronald K. Brown, Helen Pickett, The Martha Graham Trust, Michelle Gibson, Natalie Malotke and more. Marin’s performance credits span from the stage to screen, including international tours (Lightwire Theatre), feature films, commercials, theme parks, and regional theaters.
CHOREOGRAPHY AND MOVEMENT DIRECTION: Marin loves working with artists in Choreography, and Movement Direction and Coaching. Favorite Choreography credits include: Stagedoor Manor (AC), the Distinguished Young Women State Programs (formerly America's Junior Miss), Cumberland Theatre, feature film "Haunting at the Beacon," short film "Shake and Bake," Suffolk Dance Brand Catalog, digital videos, and working with actors and singers who want to improve their total body awareness, physicality, and performance while on stage. Marin also has a passion for working with kids and enjoys staging choreography for family entertainment!
